Boonville – Missouri Valley Commission Company
Cattle Auction Report for 8/27/2013

Receipts:  236    Last Week:  187    Year Ago:  N/A

Not enough feeder cattle on hand to test the market. Slaughter cows steady.
The current late season heat wave has made any cattle movement not just
unpleasant but downright dangerous with temperatures reaching the mid to upper
90s. With no rain in sight and the extreme heat forecasted for the foreseeable
future, crops and pastures will certainly look different in a week or two.
Supply light and demand moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 30 percent of the
total offering. The feeder supply consisted of 48 percent steers and bulls and
52 percent heifers; 27 percent of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.

***Scheduling note: Missouri Valley Commission Company will hold a Special
Yearling Sale next week, featuring 800-900 head of heavyweight cattle.***
