Cattle Auction Report for 9/24/2013                
 
Receipts:  409    Last Week:  591    Year Ago:  N/A
 
   Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher, 
with a light test of steers under 700 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Slaughter cows 
2.00 to 3.00 lower. A fairly light run of feeder cattle this week, with a 
disproportionately large percentage of heifer cattle on offer, but a couple new 
faces in the crowd lent support to the higher market. Supply light to moderate 
and demand moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 22 percent of the total 
offering. The feeder supply consisted of 33 percent steers and bulls and 67 
percent heifers; 59 percent of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs. 
 
   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  pkg 411 lbs 207.50; 500-600 lbs 191.00-
199.00; 600-700 lbs 154.00-160.75; pkg 862 lbs 146.25. Medium and Large 1-2  
400-500 lbs 174.50-191.00; 500-600 lbs 160.00-165.50.  
 
   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  pkg 392 lbs 178.00; 400-500 lbs 156.50-
170.00; few pkgs 500-600 lbs 157.50; 600-700 lbs 143.00-150.00; 700-800 lbs 
141.75-151.25; pkg 840 lbs 138.75; pkg 905 lbs 140.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  
pkg 470 lbs 155.50; pkg 643 lbs 144.00.  Large 2  pkg 393 lbs 135.00; pkg 445
