Cattle Auction Report for 09/16/14                 
 
Receipts:  456    Week Ago:  551    Year Ago:  591  

   Compared to last week, feeder steers sold 3.00 to 10.00 higher and heifers 
steady. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher. A handful of high quality 
consignments to build around in the feeder supply this week, but otherwise lots 
of odds and ends offered in single head lots or very small pkgs. Supply light 
and demand moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 32 percent of the total 
offering.  The feeder supply consisted of 58 percent steers and bulls and 42 
percent heifers; 30 percent of all the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  pkg 334 lbs 330.00; 400-500 lbs 291.00-
301.00; 500-600 lbs 266.00-285.00; 600-700 lbs 235.00-265.00, pkg 685 lbs fleshy 
221.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  pkg 462 lbs 280.00; pkg 595 lbs 250.00; pkg 797 
lbs 223.00.  

   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 275.50-290.00; 400-500 lbs 
249.00-260.00; 500-600 lbs 231.00-240.00; pkg 649 lbs 256.00.  Medium and Large 
1-2  400-500 lbs 231.00-243.00, pkg 432 lbs thin 267.00; pkg 574 lbs 238.00; 
600-700 lbs 224.00-230.00; pkg 765 lbs 205.00; pkg 810 lbs fleshy 190.50.  

   Feeder Bulls:  Medium and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs 241.00-325.00; 400-500 lbs

1800.00-2000.00 per head.  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short-solid mouth cows 
850-1075 lbs mostly 2nd few 3rd stage 1730.00-1975.00 per head; few broken mouth 
1050-1250 lbs 2nd stage 1400.00-1490.00 per head; 2 yrs-broken mouth cows 950-
1100 lbs 1st stage 1420.00-1780.00 per head. 

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  few 4-5 yrs 1100-1375 lb cows with 
baby to 200 lb calves 2450.00-2525.00 per pair, ind. 5 yr old 1400 lb cow with 
150 lb twin calves 2600.00; ind. short-solid mouth 1150 lbs bred back with 150 
lb calf 2060.00 per pair.
